As many as 350 Public Facility Maintenance (PPSU) personnel gathered at East Jakarta Mayor Office on Thursday (9/5) to carry out fire simulation. In this simulation, they learned how to prevent and extinguish fire.

PPSU personnel are educated to prevent and handle fire both in theory and practice

East Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar conveyed, those personnel were from 10 sub-districts in East Jakarta. Simulation was done to follow up Governor Instruction No.65/2019 about citizen movement to prevent fire.

"PPSU personnel are educated to prevent and handle fire both in theory and practice," he said.

East Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-department Acting Head (Plt), Muchtar Zakaria mentioned, his side trained them how to safely use electricity installations, electric household appliances, gas stove, and how to extinguish fire from gas stove using wet towel and fire extinguisher.

"Hopefully they can share and educate other PPSU personnel and residents about what they learned in this fire simulation," he stated.

PPSU personnel from Cipinang Besar Utara Urban Village who joined this simulation, Solihin (44) admitted that it was the first time he learned about fire prevention and handling from a simulation.

"I hope I can share things that I learned from this activity to other personnel. It is important to help the others," he stated.
